Hello Parents

As a mum of two, I founded Hello Parents to make it easier for parents, especially mothers, to find trusted health professionals for themselves and their little ones. I know firsthand how overwhelming it can be to search for the right support, so I wanted to create a space built on trust, care, and connection.

THE CHALLENGE

I built Hello Parents from the ground up. From branding, website design and development, to content creation, SEO, email campaigns, and social media management. The platform connects families with verified experts in maternal health, pregnancy, and early childhood, helping parents access the right care at the right time.

At the same time, Hello Parents supports healthcare professionals by helping them gain visibility and grow their businesses. My goal has always been to build a community where families feel supported and professionals can thrive, all through a user-friendly, engaging digital platform that continues to evolve.

DELIVERABLES

Branding

Built the visual identity and positioning for Hello Parents from scratch: name, logo, colour palette, and tone of voice, designed to feel warm and trustworthy to parents in a vulnerable, information-heavy stage of life, while still reading as credible to the health specialists being asked to list their practice on it. A directory has to earn trust from two different audiences at once, families searching for help, and practitioners deciding whether the platform is worth their time, and the brand had to work for both.

Website

Hello Parents runs on WordPress with Ultimate Member, a genuinely complex build: specialist profile pages, category and location-based browsing, member registration and profile management for practitioners, and a directory structure that needs to stay fast and usable as listings grow. Key technical work included:

  • Custom directory architecture, category and location structures built for how families actually search, not just how the data happens to be organised

  • Site-wide technical fixes, including correcting a theme-level bug that was affecting every page's heading structure, the kind of underlying issue that's invisible in a screenshot but affects how reliably the site performs

  • Image and performance optimisation, implementing modern image delivery (WebP) at the server level to keep the site fast as more specialist profiles and photos are added

Automation

Connected WordPress to Mailchimp to automate the family and practitioner communication that would otherwise eat hours every week: welcome sequences for new practitioner sign-ups, confirmation and nurture emails for parents engaging with the directory, and list segmentation so messaging stays relevant to each audience rather than generic. This is the layer that lets a solo-run platform behave like it has a small team behind it.
